Can anyone recommend an excellent autobody and paint shop in the San Diego area? Preferrably someplace with a lot of experience working on NSX's.

Thanks.

Thanks, I need a full paint job, but every paint shop I've called said they've never worked on the NSX before, at least a full painting, that is.

Try Derck at La Mesa Autobody and Paint 619-461-0213,
quality work, helped me out when I smacked a wall and with the scooped hood mod. I was pleased with their work.

Hey keen in sd, yeah, I called Stroyer Brothers already. They were unwilling, for whatever reason, to paint my car. Instead, they referred me to Steve's Custom Bodyworks in San Marcos. So I called him up, but he said he's never painted an NSX before, and I didn't want to be his first! So I'm back to square 1 again. Does anybody else know of a good place in or close to San Diego that does a high quality paint job AND has experience working on NSX's?

if your car is stock...try amato's.

they did Hoehn's personal NSX and I know that they have done plenty before.

I chose West Coast Specialties since I was putting a bunch of after-market stuff on the car....but I know they do EXCELLENT work on painting entire cars. just stop by their shop and you will see the kind of cars that they work on...

they take longer to get the job done, but the quality is there.

good luck

Allen

Well, I called Amato's and they were also unwilling to do a full paint job on an NSX. I guess West Coast Specialties is my last chance unless anyone else knows of a good shop.

Thanks.

if you do decide to go check out the work done by West Coast Specialties, talk to Patrick and tell him that Allen Wu sent you. (He's one of the owners)

if you stop by this week, you may see my car in there...

good luck,
Allen

Hey Allen, stopped by West Coast Specialties today. Got a quote of $4500 for a full paint job - not bad - or $1100 to fix a dent by the spoiler. Thanks for the recommendation - I'm sure I'll be going to this shop later on - very classy establishment.

BTW, I took a gander at your car. Very nice. I especially liked the scoop hood.

thanks for the compliment. I'm still waiting to get the '02 rear lip spoiler and M3 lip spoiler installed.

I'm sure you will be happy with the work. I'm not sure what cars were there today, but they generally have a couple porsche turbos, a bently or rolls royce, etc...

Patrick is an outstanding guy.
