I strongly recommend that those who don't have a lot of experience on the track sign up for events geared towards learning and education. These are events where in-car instructors are required for all but the most experienced drivers, not just "available", and where classroom sessions are provided in addition to in-car instruction. Such events include the drivers schools held by BMW CCA and Chin Motorsports, which have schools at tracks all over the country, as well as CGI Motorsports, which holds its events at GingerMan Raceway in southwest Michigan. Here are some upcoming Midwest events held in this manner:

Don't forget that PCA provides instruction and classroom for new to intermediate drivers. Also, there is always someone who will ride with an experienced driver if he/she is looking for help.

Note that not all PCA groups allow any type car to run. OVR and Maumee which both run at Mid-Ohio will allow any type car to run as long as it passes tech. OVR is at Mid-Ohio on April 14-15 and their registration is now open.

Hello NSX Track Day Fans:

Just a quick note to update you on MVP Track Time's Putnam Park (near Indianapolis) track day July 23rd which is already 1/2 full and filling fast.

Heartland Park was a blast last weekend. Great track with a smooth surface, plenty of paddock space (including rental garages if you so choose) and pretty good food too. Our Heartland Park track day in Topeka, Kansas is September 17th.
