Why?

11 slots free on left side and 9 slots free on my right side when I parked my Nsx. Somebody parks next to me and dings it . Good thing he left a note. He said, I can use his credit card. I am sure he has no idea about Aluminium can be expensive. Needs dent and paint job.

I am going to Wagon works in Alexandria (Thanks Bryan for the suggestion). Any body has any other suggestions and or comments on Wagon works? I have an appointment this Thursday.

Is it a door ding or a major dent that has paint cracked? If it's just a door ding, you should look into paintless dent repair (PDR) options. If the paint isn't cracked, most dings/dents can be repaired by a good PDR tech.

+1, would definitely go this route before I had body work. ~$120/panel or so.

get new part( with his credit card from dealership), have it painted, then remove old part, put new painted part on. keep old part, sell old part on Prime. done.

or have your buddy that works at a body shop charge the shit outta that guys credit card and keep the money for emotional distress.

also have them look at the damage PRE-ORDER the parts needed and wait till they have all the parts then drop off your car. the longer it sits there the more likely one of the Shop guys can get the keys and test drive it. has been talked about on prime for a long time, how they all take High end cars for a TEST DRIVE to the extreme.

Also walk around the car with the body guy and show him not one scratch is on your car. show him the tread on your rear tires, becareful talk with the guy doing the work on your car. has he ever done work on an NSX before, ask him about how the paint has a 23 step process if he hasnt heard about the paint process RUN RUN fast

Now-a-Days they dont need that long process cuz paint produced today is way better than the old paint of yesterday ya know.

This has happened to me quite a few times. I have no reason why. miles of free parking spaces left and right. Nope I'll park next to the NSX. Oddly enough if its a nice sports car, I don't mind, and do the same, because I know they are probably a little more careful.

I completely disagree. Atleast this person had the common courtesy to take responsibility for their actions and offer to pay for the repairs. WIth that said, abusing that offer is what would deter someone from ever being honest again.

Absolutely true -

I also vote for PDR.

I agree with you, we need more honest people in this world not more dishonest people. He could of walked away, instead he chose not to and do the right thing no questions asked.

--Updated with pics--

By no means I want to misuse the situation but at the same time I cannot take a cheap way out unless there is a life time warranty on the job from a business who has been around. I had a bad experience in the past on my 300zx coz it came to me after 1year which was way more expensive than the original damage. I am never selling this nsx. I don't use 'never' easily as I know things change but I am certain in this case.

Thanks for all info. Pics coming up. Looks worse than it is in pics or may be I am emotional about it.

Hard to tell from the pics if PDR will work, also hard to tell if the scratch is down to metal. I would talk to a PDR guy first, unless you know you need body work. Maybe the PDR guy can get the dent out, then you might have to repaint that panel. I am sorry I know I would be distraught over this. Get it fixed right, but like I said before if you could do the PDR and buff the paint out, I would go that route.

It's hard to tell from the pic, but the paint doesn't appear broken. You might be able to get this done with PDR and a good buffing. See what the PDR tech says and go from there.

Wish I had a better camera. Used my phone. Sorry!

Got the preliminary quote. 1350 USD. ~5-6 days. I requested to keep it as minimal as possible. Matching paint is going to be a big issue seems like.

The person is highly recommended by NSX users locally and reputed for aluminium body. Saw lot of audi r8s and some porsche.

Personally, I’m a fan of paintless dent repair.

Some guy dinged a door of my BMW and his insurance company agreed to pick up the tab. I went to my BMW dealer and they wanted to remove the door, disassemble it, put filler in the dent, repaint the door, and reinstall it. I was afraid of how much potential there was for something to go wrong. They could break plastic tabs when taking something apart, the color of the door or surface of the paint might not perfectly match the rest of the car afterwards, they might not reassemble the various pieces of the door as accurately as the guys (or robots) in the factory did, and they might not adjust the door properly when installing it to minimize wind noise.

A paintless dent repair place offered to fix the dent without removing, disassembling, and repainting the door. Regardless of the price, that sounded like a much better alternative because there was so much less that could go wrong.

If the paint of your door isn’t broken, I would try to go with paintless dent repair.

Call some paintless dent repair shops yourself - outside of the body shop and see what PDR techs tell you about doing the repair without paintwork.

I don't know the body shop you are working with; sounds like they are reputable, but remember, they are in the business of doing paint/bodywork and getting paid for that, not for PDR.

Take your time and find out all options before deciding on a repair route - PDR would be best if it can be done for this dent.

Update: Thanks for inputs.

Tried PDR through phone and person was not confident if they can fix it without future problems. He said they can do the job but don't have much confidence when I mentioned about paint, aluminium body etc. so...Dropped it at Wagon works yesterday. Hopefully, they do a good job. I am soooooo tempted now to get an R8 when I saw them at the shop. They look fantastic though my ~20 year old nsx still looks pretty good next to R8.

Not completely satisfied with the job they have done esp. after input I got from others who saw the car. Will be dropping off again to get it done properly next week. Hopefully they will do a good job. At least they agreed that it was not perfect, which I expected for the price/time/reputation.

Just got the car back from round 2. They did a good job this time. If anybody needs info on this in future, please PM me.

Damn R8s...again! 140k used with 5k on em? shit!

Bryan - Thanks for the ride man!. Heat and cold beer worked out ok today. Its F'kn hot ~100.
