Why: This Sunday is the monthly John Eagle European Car's and Coffee in Leander! Weather is going to be perfect! Bring out the motorcycles, customs, hot rods, and just daily drivers and meet old as well as make new friends. Don't forget that we need to raise $50,000 for the Capital Area Food Bank this year at Cars and Coffee. Food Bank Representatives have volunteered their time at Cars and Coffee for this important cause...

... Let's rally around them and lend them a helping hand and acheive our goal! Let's show the Austin area what the car and motorcycle community is all about!!! Once the $50,000 is acheived, we want to caravan down to the Food Bank and present the check. Wouldn't it be awsome for 200-300 cars and bikes to be escorted by Lea...nder's finest down to the Food Bank on South Congress? Let's get'er done!!!

LEANDER, TEXAS PROCLAIMS LAST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH TO BE “JOHN EAGLE EUROPEAN CARS & COFFEE DAY”

The City of Leander, Texas, has proclaimed the last Sunday of each month to be “John Eagle European Cars and Coffee™ Day" beginning April 25, 2010. The Mayor of the Austin area town made the official proclamation during the City Council meeting on Thursday, April 1. Sonny Morgan, Dealer Principal for John Eagle European personally accepted the honor from the Mayor and City Council during the meeting.

The first “Cars & Coffee” in the Hill Country attracted about 200 vehicles to the “Old Town” area of Leander, Texas, on Jan. 31. The Sunday event, which is held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. is a casual gathering where enthusiasts bring cars, trucks and motorcycles of every kind. Since January, the Leander event has continued to grow and bring in even larger crowds and more cars.

“We appreciate the efforts of Mr. Morgan and the entire team at John Eagle European to bring this event to Leander,” stated Kirk D. Clennan for the City of Leander’s Economic Development Department. “They’ve certainly stimulated our area economy with the Cars and Coffee event. It’s a unique experience created by blocking off the streets, bringing in a live band and opening up the local restaurants for business, all to accommodate the car enthusiasts.”

The impetus for the Leander event occurred when Morgan, who had been to another Cars and Coffee event, approached the City of Leander to host one in the Austin area. The City’s economic development department agreed that their town would benefit from this kind of event.

“I’m pleased that we’ve been able to help fan the flames of automotive passion through our event in Leander,” said Sonny Morgan, dealer principal at John Eagle European. “Each month, even more people driving exotics, classics, muscle, street machines, bikes and military vehicles join us. We hope this event will be the genesis for even more automotive events in the hill country.”

Leander lies in the heart of Central Texas at the edge of the Texas Hill Country. Just five miles north of Austin on U.S. 183, Leander is home to approximately 30,000 people living amid beautiful lakes, rolling hills and a historic downtown area. Now, area auto enthusiasts are filling Sunday afternoons in Leander with the sounds of revving engines.

Having originated in Southern California in 2005, Cars and Coffee began with a group of enthusiasts who wanted to share their cars in an environment where they could be comfortable enough to ask questions, learn and experience the joys of the diverse offering of cars. The Leander-Austin event is an extension of the California show.

John Eagle European was the 36th Aston Martin dealership and the 47th Bentley location in North America. In 2009, Lotus of Austin was the No. 1 ranked Lotus dealership in Texas, and third in the United States. Opened in April 2009, it services and sells a full range of handcrafted, high performance vehicles from the flagship Aston Martin DBS, to the Bentley Continental GTC and Lotus Evora.

I made the event last month and there were several nice P-Cars, F-cars, a few Aston Martin's, Bentley's, and some new/old muscle cars. The atmosphere was nice. Hopefully they will have worked out the parking situation this time around, the one problem with the event last time was that cars were all over the place. Cars weren't in any specific order, and were on random streets. I had the NSX with me but I didn't see anyone else with an NSX :-(

I'll be at this event again this month.

it's a beginning...

Hopefully they will have worked out the parking situation this time around, the one problem with the event last time was that cars were all over the place. Cars weren't in any specific order, and were on random streets. I had the NSX with me but I didn't see anyone else with an NSX :-(
Heya man, wassup! That's generally how it is there, at least from personal experience as-per the Jan-Feb-March gatherings. The organizers/volunteers focus is enforcement of laws, safety, traffic-flow. One of the gatherings, I arrived alone & a kind fellow helping w/ stuff told me about other NSX'es & then moved cones so I could get there. They then asked if there would be others, to save spots for them. So, the inclination to accommodate is definitely there.

Also, due to the general area, it won't be a conventional car meet-&-greet w/ a large open parking-area (ie. shopping-mall lot, dealership, etc'). It's in-essence a small rural Texas town (ie. Hamlet) w/ side-streets & few promenade type areas.

They can/will reserve spots and/or designated areas for car-clubs & like makes/models, if so desired. I've already let them know about the Greater Austin NSX Owners Enthusiasts Members (OEM, get it? :D), but I don't commit to rsvp'ing an area as it's truly random who out-of-us shows up & when. Generally, there's a handful of us NSX'ers there regularly, and at times we just drive-over together so we end up parking next-to/near each other anyways. If more people consistently committed, I'd be more keen to get a section for us. I mean, there are at least 3 NSX'es right in the Avery Ranch area, about 8+ in North Austin that I know about, all within ~10'ish minutes of Leander. Perhaps something to look forward to in the future.

With all that said, I see them outgrowing current accommodations rather soon, especially w/ spring/summer/fall forthcoming. City of Leander seems committed to hosting this, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the coming months. . .

i'll be there, maybe on the bike though.
Cool. I'll be there for a bit, as well. trainingrevolution is also game.

I'm sure others will be there, too. . .
