August 7/8 Willow Spring

Hey There Si-

Wish I could make it! Just keep cool out there! Forecast calls for a High of 101 degrees!

Hi Si,

Most likely on Sunday.

I was at Big Willow two weeks ago and the track temp in the afternoon went up to 140+. Bring a lot of drinks.

Man, you guys are diehard track junkies!

Si, thanks for the call, but I'll have to pass this time. Can't wait for Nov event at Pahrump though. May be this time they'll have rooms available.

I whimped out on the last Speedventure event in July when the temp is at 95. 140 is unthink of to be in a helmet.

Keep yourselves hydrated and watch the temp gauge closely!

What do you guys think about doing this same event on Dec 4/5? It works out great for me because our regular race season is over in Nov, and I can bring the racecar. Last year Dec, I went with Ross and Greg Strang.

It will be a LOT cooler - it was perfect weather last year - in the mid to low 60's.

Maybe if we can arrange something like that enough ahead of time and get enough NSX's, we can have our own run groups and set up our own instructors for the newbies.

Taj, hope to see you there, just don't blow my doors off.

Chris, you sure you can't squeez one day in?? your car is built for this type of stuff.

Mark, what a great idea, this will give me ample time to improve my driving skill.

Absolutely right! Watch your temp gauge closely!!!!!!

When I was at Big Willow couple weeks ago, the NSX was OK in the morning but it was overheated in the afternoon after 10 hot laps. If fact, my friend's Sti had the same problem.

If you are talking about Big Willow, I'm in!!!!! I always want to try out that track. That'll give me 2 weeks rest after the Pahrump event on the 11/20.

After the Prime Canyon drive, a few of us were talking about an all NSX track event. I hope that we can pull this one off. For those of you that are intimidated by the term "track driving", it is really just like a canyon drive except that you're in a controlled environment.

I vote for Big Track Willow for an all NSX event.

Turn 9 - Where we separate the men from the men without brains.

I dont think there is any way of having an all NSX event this Dec. Dates at Willow Springs (especially weekend dates) are booked way ahead of time, plus we probably wont have enough NSX track junkies to make it work financially, so I think that the best we can do would be to "piggyback" with an established club who already has a certain date reserved. If we can guaranty a certain amount of reservations, im pretty sure we can negotiate our own run group or even two, which would be the next best thing to having our own private event.

Id shoot for Sat Dec 4th to try to make this happen:

Just got back from the track, Speedventure is a great orginization.
They were very relaxed and not anal about every little thing. There was about 30 people showed up (1 nsx - me). It was a 5 -30 minute session. The orginizer were very generous to let people run extra session if they chose to. It is well worth the bucks. I duked out my best time in the first session at 1:42.0, still a newbie time. The car didn't over heat, needle creep slightly above the middle.

I'm down for the Dec 4/5 dates. Keep me posted.
Ryan

Hey Si-

1:42's are about the laptimes we are doing in our little PRO-7 RX-7 Racecars...Dec 4/5 should be a lot of fun...we should run in the same group!
