I really frown on doing mods that require permanent modificatons to the car. Comptech's online instructions says that the heat shields might have to be bent to make the exhaust fit, did anyone have to do this? As for the headers, is there any cutting required with regards to the 02 sensors to make them longer? I've only seen the pics on comptech's website, is there anyone here that can post good pics of an NSX with the comptech exhaust with resonated tips? Are the resonated tips round like a tin can or are they angle cut? Thanks in advance.

Resonated tips are round like a tin can with curled edges (if you look inside them, you can see the perforated core)...and the billet tips have thin walls...

The part about bending the heat shields so they fit, makes no sense to me. The reason I say this, is because heat shields are used on the factory cast iron exhaust manifolds. They are NOT re-used with the Comptech headers. The manifolds, heat shields and downpipe* go under the garage workbench for whenever you want to go back to OEM. Other than splicing in some wire for the relocated oxygen sensors, there is no permanent modification to the NSX when installing Comptech's headers (or muffler).

* Downpipe is the piece between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter.

I am thinking they are refering to the heat shields on the intermediate shaft just below the rear header, to possibly eliminate a rattle.

I have not done the Comptech's only the RM and the DC Sports. No clearance problems with either of those systems.

I think the operative word here is "might" have to bend!! I think you will be OK without it.
