Are there any Orlando/Central Florida Members on here that would be interested in doing gatherings and runs/rallies in the future with other exotic and high end sports cars? If so, keep reading!

WHO AM I?
I am a huge car enthusiast that is new to Central Florida from the Northeast. It doesn't take a genius to realize that Florida has an amazing amount of exotic and high end sports cars rolling around. The problem is, I have yet to find a group of guys that are willing to get out and enjoy their cars for what they were made for; to be driven! When I was living in New Jersey, I coordinated and participated in numerous events in which large numbers of exotic and high end sports cars would gather, and then enjoy spirited drives to various destinations. Here are a few videos of events that I coordinated in the past:

WHAT IS THE GOAL?
My goal is to organize events just like in the videos above. A typical event is comprised of a "meet and greet" at the starting point, a 50-100 mile cruise, and then arrival at a destination. The destinations vary from event to event. Sometimes a destination would be a restaurant for a nice lunch, or other times a destination would be a racetrack or go-karting track for all of the participants to put their driving skills to the test in a fun and safe environment. The events that I organize usually have some sort of a cause. In the past, I have put together events benefiting Toys for Tots and St. Jude Children's Hospital, as well as some other "just for fun" events.

WHERE WILL THESE EVENTS TAKE PLACE?
These events will mostly be coordinated throughout Central Florida and surrounding areas. For example, an event may have a starting point in Orlando and a destination in Melbourne.

WHEN WILL THESE EVENTS TAKE PLACE?

Ideally, I would love to organize my first large event soon after the holidays and the new year. Some smaller, impromptu events may take place before then, but larger events usually require at least a months time in planning. With the holidays right around the corner, attendance may be difficult for many. With that in mind, I am setting my goal on the first large event to be in early to mid January. Not only would this give sufficient time to properly plan and execute the event, but it would also be a great way to kick off the new year.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
This is the easy part. I am compiling a list of contacts for these events. All you have to do is send me a PM or an email with your name, phone number, email address, what you drive, and what town/area you live in.

Remember, the goal here is to organize events with exotics and other sports cars. Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Vipers, Corvettes, Porsches, Aston Martins, Lotus', GTRs, NSX's, and M-Series BMW's are all welcomed. If you have a car that isn't listed above or you aren't sure if your car will qualify, feel free to ask. The events are not limited solely to the cars listed above, those are just a variety of examples of the types of cars we are looking to organize.

If anyone has any other questions, feel free to PM or email me. I hope to hear from many of you and I am looking forward to coordinating some exciting events!

Well, Dimitri, you've just been hanging out with the wrong people!

Why don't you come to our NSX luncheon on Sunday Dec.6 (see post in this forum section) and we'll show you how an "exotic" should be driven.

We even *gasp* take our cars out on the track and make the tires squeal at 150mph! I have 125,000 miles on my car.....most of that on the track.

I've been organizing drives like you describe for over 10 years here in Orlando. There are fabulous little known roads in this area. Welcome to Florida and we'd love to meet you in person.

Thanks for the invite! I am definitely interested in coming out and joining you guys. I shot you a quick email about a little question I had about the run. Hope to meet you and many other members out there!

Thanks Dave. I hope to see you and introduce myself at the event next weekend.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving day/weekend. As of right now, my contact list stands at just under 50 cars. Big time thanks to all of you guys that have sent me contact info. With that said and due to the great response I have been getting, I've kicked it into overdrive in organizing my first run. As of now it looks like it will take place on the second weekend of January. Nothing is confirmed yet, but an official announcement will be made in the near future. I am still finalizing the route and tying up loose ends, but I look forward to seeing you all out there. Those that have given me their info, expect an email soon. Those that haven't, it's not too late! Shoot me a PM with your name, location, car, and email address. Thanks guys!

Welcome to Central Florida Dimitri.

For what you're interested in, if you haven't already contacted the Orlando Automotive Club, you should. Today they are having their Cars & Cafe which is very impressive.

Please keep us updated about your event here on Prime.
Also, what do you drive? An exotic?

Thanks! I have attended a few of the C&C meets in the last few months. I actually think I saw your car at one of them....do you have white HRE's on your car?

I enjoy the C&C meet, but I am more interested in getting a nice group together of people that like to DRIVE. In my opinion, there is no point in buying a sports car if you aren't going to drive it.

And I drive a 2008 Corvette Coupe.

Yes, mine's the one with HRE's, one of which cracked after our recent breakfast get together and drive. Unfortunately, it won't be repaired in time for our Holiday Lunch :frown:, but still plan to attend.

Okay. I do recall taking a few pictures of your car at the C&C meet where you were parked in front of a blue BMW M3. Hope to see you next weekend at the meet!

Dmitri, we missed you. What happened? Had a great 100 mile drive through the hills of Lake County. 17 NSXs in all.

I'm sorry I missed the event! My mother actually came into town on Saturday night but her flight ended up getting delayed so I didn't get back home until 1am. If I went on the run, I would have been a zombie! :D

I hope to see you guys out on the road in the future though
