Assistance in Removing Corner Light

I recently purchased some LED bulbs, as per a thread where a Primer changed his cornering bulbs to LED bulbs (a bit brighter and whiter)...anyway, I pulled the page from the manual where it discusses removing lens, and I can't seem to figure this out.

When I insert my screwdriver up into the bottom of the lens (through the bumper cover) it seems like I am hitting the rigid styrofoam, and not any type of screw head.

When I look, (on both sides) it almost seems that I do not see any screw head...should I be able to see it? is it up so far into the foam that my screwdriver is not reaching it? When I look at how far my screwdriver should be reaching, it should be well in to depth of where the lens is...

In the event there is no screw there, I should be able to pry them out, correct?..however, when I tried, they did not budge at all, and I was afraid to break them as I was prying pretty hard. Do they pry out first from the center and then out, or pry out from the corner/curved area, and then out?

For those of you who have had them out, what am I looking for?..a traditional phillips screw head? and if they are missing, why is it so hard to pry out?

Thanks, Curtis

You DO need a long screwdriver (about 8" would be fine).

However, you also SHOULD be able to see the screw pretty well, especially using a flashlight. If you do NOT see the scree, then you are simply looking into the whole at the wrong angle.

When you pry the corner light out, start at the inside of the light. The outer side is kind of hooked into the bumper.
It usually helps when you try to pry one side out to push the outside side inwards to create a king of turning moment.
Don't worry to much because these turning lights are pretty solidly constructed.

Well, I first tried to see the screw head, and with my little "NSX" flashlight, could not seen anything like a screw head. In fact, it almost seemed like there was none there, since I could see kind of a white threaded hole (really tough to see clearly through the hole of the bumper cover) but even feeling around witht he screwdriver, it felt like going into a gap, rather than a screw head.

So I assumed they were missing, so I tried prying the lights out...not sure what's up, but I was really putting a lot of force on the big screwdriver,(so much so I was bending in the bumper cover) and it would not budge even a little...

I know the former owner at some point in the past did have the front bumper removed to repaint the front fron road debris, but that should not affect the corner lights, right? They seem to be sitting in there correctly and square, so not sure whats causing the problem.

Further suggestions?

You need to use a long and thin phillips head. If the screwdriver is too thick it won't fit into the white housing and engage the screw head. remember to also push up while turning the screw. Also, the screw won't fall out like you expect it will. It's a little bit of the PITA the first time you do this, but after that it should only take 15 seconds.

yeah the screw it kind of made into the plastic housing, it cant fall out. I thought the same thing while tring to remove mine one day and noticed my screwdriver's head was to big. and once you know the screw is loose
use a small flathead to pry from the center of the car first then out.
