Have you already pulled the fan out and manually cleaned it? It isn't very hard to take the center console off, pull the fan out, and give it a good cleaning. You can also check to make sure the fan is balanced, and tighten up the center nut to prevent it from becoming wobbly. Do a search and you'll find some excellent DIY instructions, complete with pictures. I have no abilities whatsoever, but following the instructions I was able to fix my fan and save about $300 or so for a new one, plus gain a small amount of pride in actually fixing something myself (for once).
