Here is what I brought for show and tell today:
How to mount your V1 Remote Display in your ashtray and set it up so that the unit turns on and off when the ashtray is opened and closed.
I think I went over what it takes to mount the remote in the ashtray before so I am only going to talk about the switch.
Radio Shack has a roller lever switch,
part number 275-017A
Description: SPDT Submini Roller Lever Switch 5A 125/250 VAC
You can mount it on the side of the center console so that when the ashtray is opened the V1 turns on and off. For those of you who are like me, I don't like to have to readjust the volume when I turn my V1 on and off. I also have the main unit mounted so high and so far behind my rear view mirror, I cannot easily access the volume. If you have your unit hardwried like mine there are times when you want to turn it off, but there was no good solution.
I like this easy fix since there is no perminant damage to any external viweable surfaces.
