Ashtray install question

In a stock setup, are these side tabs used when installing the ashtray (or are they even there)?

If I recall correctly, no. The clips are there but don't screw to anything. The ashtray is attached to the center console. The console and ashtray are removed as a single unit once the screws are removed. Two of the screws attach to the brass speed clips in the center of your picture.
