Argh! Venting about Comptech/WW widebody wing!

Lately, I've just had the worse luck w/ mods to my NSX. I just had my new Comptech Widebody Wing freshly painted & when I went to mount it, I realized that Comptech had predrilled the holes for the third brake light wiring on the right side of the wing. Anyone who has ever removed their factory wing would know that the wiring harness for the 3rd brake light is on the left side. They had good intention as there was a pre-inserted wire for "fishing" the aftermarket brake light wire thru the wing, but the damned thing is on the wrong side! Now, I don't even know if I can fish the wire to the correct (left) side. What would have been a 15 minute install is now going to take a fews days! On top of that, while struggling to "fish" the wiring to the correct side, I managed to scratch to new paint on the wing! Argh! Just wanted to vent my frustration. Anyone else experience the same problem w/ their CT/WW wing? Any suggestions on fishing the wiring thru the wing? Thanks!

i Have a few suggestions......sometimes when i need to fish wire thru i use a ball chain.....same kind you find on ceiling fans and old fashioned porcelain light holders......... just make sure its long enough and hold your wing up right and drop the ball chain in and it will find its way thru and should come out with a bit of tilting and shaking.... you can also try a piece of string with a metal nut tied to it and drop that thru and then use the string to pull the wire thru.I hope this helps.....good luck

I had the same problem about two months ago. I was able to fish it through using a 3 foot extension-graber (Home Depot). But the good news is that I bitched enought to the people at Comptech and they gave me a $150.00 credit for the hassle. It only took me a few minutes to fish it through. Post some picts when you get it done.

Good luck.

Sorry about that scratch dude
i will down size my enormous 50 lb key chain right away:D
similar thing happened to me when i installed the 03 rear velance
i dropped the rear bumper on top of scattered tools, yikes:(
permanent scratches (more like gauches) all over my bumper
next time we do a project, ask me where my keys are:D :D
