Are there more speakers?

On my 91 coupe, I found speakers in each door panel, and a center speaker (total 3). I've read through some posts that someone had mentioned that there is a subwoofer somewhere inside a kick panel (?). Just wondering if this is correct.

Also, I'm wondering what's the typical "audio upgrade" on this vehicle? Should we strip the stock unit and put in an aftermarket unit? If so, how do we fabricate a cover?

Thanks.

Subwoofer is at passengers feet. Notice how the passenger doesn't have the same legroom as the driver. Pull back the carpet a bit and you'll see it.

There are a few routes you can go, depending on what your desired outcome (& budget!) is.
1) You can retain the stock head unit & add an Alpine MP3 changer;

2) As 1) plus add amplifier(s) and door speakers & sub
(many options here- ultimate being a quality ampifier and component speakers plus a 8-10" subwoofer in a custom fabricated box)
(Box can easily cost more than the sub incidentally)
Dali Racing produces a turn-key upgrade http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/toys/stereo_kit.cfm

3) Change head unit - also requires new console (is that what you meant by "fabricate a cover"?) to deal with the differing requirement for the fascia http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/interior_performance_products/NSX/center_console/

4) Add a Nav or DVD system http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/interior_performance_products/NSX/ScienceofSpeed/navigation/

The above are some of the popular options - sky is the limit really.

Yes, as noted here.

great link! thank you. funny thing is that i don't see how i could have found that page on this web. is it somewhere under the gallery section ?

Yes:

1. "Gallery"

2. "NSX Marketing, Dealer and Promotional Material"

3. "NSX Technical Information and Development History book by Acura"

My center speaker also crapped out recently. I was hoping it would just blow completely but it hasn't yet. It buzzes, rattles and pops and drives me crazy! I checked the FAQ but couldn't find instructions particular to the center speaker. Any easy way to simply disconnect it?, I don't want to waste $$ trying to fix it. Thanks!

sub likely bad also then

JimK--I bet others are going to say it's probably not the speaker that has gone bad but the amp of the subwoofer that drives it. How is your sub sounding? I hear nothing from my center speaker but can still hear the subwoofer somewhat. I will have all rebuilt door amps and sub shortly and if my center speaker-tweeter comes back to life, then I know it was due to the sub's amp going bad
