I'm in sales and like most of you probably use your cell phone for alot of business. I'm not required to have it for work, but obviously being in touch helps alot. Alot of customer like to text, email and/or call these days and I use my phone for all of that.

I'm on a family plan with my wife, but I've also upped the plan with alot more minutes than we'd usually use because I use it so much for work. I'd estimate that a good 90% of the use on mine is work related.

Thoughts? Yay or nay? I've researched it quite a bit and have seen it go both ways.

I write off most of my cell phone bill of $150 or so. It's true I use it for personal use too, after all I'm not going to carry 2 phones around. I'd say it's likely used 90% business and maybe 10% personal, if that. If the IRS wants to come after me for the $180 or so of personal use I owe them for the year and check phone records, they can feel free. Legitimately you would just write off the % it's used for business, but I don't see how it's not a legitimate business expense.
