Apparently the new NSX is in Vegas?

So just dropped off the NSX at the Acura Dealership in Orland Park and the sales person was all kinds of excited to tell me that he saw the new NSX in vegas at an event. He claims no cameras were allowed and he could not tell where the engine was but stated it was a V8 and not a v10, the back end was nothing like he had ever seen, and it looked "awesome". He also stated they would not let them look in the front or middle to find where the engine was so open question there. He said the spy shots going around on the web are the roadster and not the NSX...

I lay no claim to accuracy, just reporting what I heard. If I apply other sales person experiences it is probably a 4 cylinder truck ;)

This is no roadster:wink:
I do not think these dealer types know there own backsides much less that of the NSX replacement. HONDA would be HIGHLY unlikely to let a dealer look at the rear of a car about which they have been so secretive, off hand. I seriously doubt the truth or the accuracy of the dealer's statement.

Hey, I used to work at a Honda dealer. "Honda told me they are NOT making another mid engine car, and the new car will have a V10 with SHAWD, to be sold ONLY in Acura dealers."

My DPSM told me "the NSX as we know it will cease to exist." I heard this in spring of 2005 when I was a service manager for acura. But then again what do I know ??? LOL. Some of the dealer types know a lot more than what people give them credit for.

Hey, I heard the S2000 will cease too by end of 2009 model year. I heard that from my dream, every car magazines, and yes, local Honda dealer. In fact, my buddy from Nissan Corp told me the same thing!!!

I've been to SEMA 5 years running and I don't think I've ever seen any new car revealed there that wasn't shown at another venue first. Except small kit-car type companies looking for venture capital or exposure.

SEMA starts next week, roll in and setup is over this weekend. If there is any truth to this at all, we'll see spy shots in the next few days.

But don't get your hopes up...

I guess it would be possible. Draw all of the media attention to the V10 GT roadster during public testing at the Ring...and work up the MR V8 NSX through closed sessions at a Honda-owned and controlled track like Suzuka. It would make quite a splash at the Tokyo show- can you imagine the shock that would occur? They roll out the V10 GT like everyone expects, talk about how great it is, all the new technology, the blistering Ring performance, etc. And then the Acura Pres says something like "Oh- and we have something else to show you."

And out rolls a Champinship White, mid-V8, 480hp NSX. Jaws would hit the floor around the world. It would be the automotive shocker of the decade, and would vindicate Honda after years of criticism.

Could it happen? Possibly. Likely? No. But I can dream... :D

! that would be AWESOME

Not SEMA. There was a meeting in Vegas though. Our dealer owner was there. He didn't say anything about the car that the OP is talking about. He did say that they confirmed to him there that we'll have the diesel in the TSX by spring of 09 as well as a V6 TSX. Take it for what it's worth because literally the very next day the rumors started flying around online that the diesel is dead before it even arrived.

You can sh1t in one hand and hope in the other. Which one do you think will fill up faster?

Most of my clients probably would tell you the hand with the hope in it. It's often my job to convince them it's really the s$*t hand.
