I don't have an actual picture since I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, but if you go to Tire Rack they have a very realistic side profile view of it in their virtual section where you select the car and are able to change the rims.

This is exactly the post I was looking for!!!
I really like these rims and was wondering what size to get.
xScape - What size tires are you running? Do you have any problems with rubbing? Are you lowered?

ChrisK - Where did you order your rims from? What set up did you go with? 18/19, 18/18? Just curious.

My '03 is still stock, so hopefully these will fill out the wells nicely...

Thanks in advance for the info!

Ron

XScape,

Beautiful, now I know I made the right choice in rims? I got the silver not Satin though, but yours looks great on the black car.

wickedrsr,

I ordered mine from Tire Rack through Alex. I ordered a 18X7.5 +42 front and 19X10 +41 rear. There has been a lot of talk about caliper clearance with the GT3 rims with other sizes and offsets, but Tire Rack assures and garantees me that these sizes will clear the 91-96 calipers. 97+ calipers is no problem with any of the sizes and offsets. Part of my set is back ordered so it wont come in until late January or early February.

Darn it xscape!:) You have exactly what I want.
That look is exactly what I am waiting for. I want the satin finsh, and I constantly bug Aaron about when they are coming in.
I may just have to get the regular finish and have them finshed in my color of choice.
Thanks for the topic and the posts. Someone was reading my mind on this one.
Gotta love this forum.

Chris, what did tire rack tell you about big brake clearance?
If you asked them, that is.
Also, what size rear tires are you running? 285/35/19?
Yo Aaron.

What kind of suspension do you have on?
Do you have any rubbing problems?

Thank you.

I never did ask. Once I get my set in I'll take some measurements for those who whats to know. The tires I'm using are 225/35/18 up front and 275/30/19 in the rear. I know people will say to watch out for bent rims, but these rims are going to be my car show and car cruise rims. I use my stock 16/17 with 25mm H&R spacers font and rear for everyday use.

Thanks Chris, No warmings from me. I had 18/19's as well.
I am wondering on the rear, Did you not want to go to the 285/30 on the 10.5" wheel? Does the 275 have streched look?
They don't show the 18x8 on their site, so I will make sure I ask for them instead of the 18x7.5.

I'm not sure how the tire will look since I haven't gotten them in yet. However, I hear the SO3 Potenza which I am getting run a tad bit wider than other comparable brands, so I think the 275 should look nice on the 10" wide rim I'm getting. To tell you the truth, I really wanted a 9.5" rear rim so I could have an option of using the 265 tire if I wanted without that stretched look. I asked for it, but they gave me the 10" rim instead, but I don't mind. I guess I'll stick to the 275 tires.

As for the 18X8, you really have to make sure these will clear the big brakes. From what the other owners have been telling me, it doesn't clear the 91-96 calipers but clear the 97+. I think with the 8" front you really have to make sure it clears.

Using a rim offset calculator, my 7.5" front with +42 will stick out 19mm more than stock. I am using a 25mm spacer on my stocks which bring the rims flush with the outer fender edge, so I should be 6mm further in which should help prevent rubbing hopefully. The rear 10" with +41 brings it out 38mm. With my 25mm spacer on the stock rims it is about 15mm inside the outer fender edge, so the 38mm on the GT3 should bring them out just about to the outer fender edge.

Beautiful rims too. However, when you go bigger on rims the OEM brake set up look mismatched. I have 17" Front Volk GT-C wrapped around my 13" cross-drilled/vented rotors and 4 piston monoblock calipers.

Same set up with e-brake system for rears as well covered by an 18" Volk GT-C wheel.

Installing the rear big break kit tomorrow morning and will post in my Blue NSX thread.

I am sorry ChrisK I got your sizes mixed up with XScapes.
Thanks for the clarification.

Hey guys,
What are the differences between an 18/18 set up and a 18/19 set up? Is there a performance gain or is it cosmetic?
Chris, If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for just your wheels? Got to set up the budget...

Thanks!

From all indications from the talks about larger rims, it seems most owners would agree that 17/18 should be the largest you go before you start to feel a performance loss. I got the 18/19 purely for cosmetic reasons as I will use my stock 16/17 for dailry driving. My rims are for car shows and special occations only. I would say if yo uare going to use them a lot of the streets and are worried about bending the rims, go with th e17/18 set up.
