Awhile ago, I read a thread saying that Denso Iridium spark plugs have a dimple at the tip and causes bad connection to the coil. And indeed they do. But has anyone been using these plugs and is experiencing misfires? Just want to poll some personal experience and see if it's isolated incident or not.

Along these same lines, I have the Bosch platimun plus four in my GSR and they run great. A few months after i installed them a misfire problem manifested itself and since the car was still under warrenty took it back to Acura to investigate. They promptly declared that the Bosch plugs were to blame and were going to charge me for a new set of their plugs and the install time. At which time I told them I would reinstall the old plugs ( which didn't really have many miles on them) and see what happens. Guess what? It turns out that the igniter was going bad all along. Acura replaced it under warrenty and I reinstalled the Bosch plugs. Several years later and the plugs have never missed a beat. Acura seems very sensitive about using anything other than the recommended plugs to the point of jumping to conclusions before fully diagnosing the problem.

I had the problem you speak of...but can't find my post for some reason. Even with the dimple it ran fine...it just created a lot of noise on the radio. Fix the dimple and there's no problem. Anyway, I didn't notice any performance improvement. I think you should just get OEM plugs.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually have them installed already when I swapped in a new engine. The new engine which was used started up smooth and without a hick-up so far. In fact, I have the IK22 (colder) plugs and so far, no problem. I have been trying the radio and so far it sounds ok; though only one speaker has sound (more fixing to do).
