anyone use precut window tint?

It's cheap enough, and applying the doors would be easy enough - but having watched my rear hatch being done, I think I would recommend leaving it to someone who does this professionally. That window presents quite a challenge to the DIY'r I would expect.

Sidney & his team at http://www.automalltintfactory.com/ did a fabulous job on mine & quite a few other NSX's.

everytime i ask someone locally here in south florida who did theirs... i always get the same response... "so and so did it but i don't recommend them"

so that leaves me wondering what to do?

Eric, I've used two great places in Boca. The one that did my NSX is Car & Driver on Glades Rd, and the other one that did my TL and my fathers Lambo is Tint n Tunes on Dixie.

I'm contemplating this Ebay offering as well; I came across it about 2-3months ago. I'd probably get some detail-shoppe or tint-specialist for installation, as D'Ecosse/Ken mentioned, the rear hatch would be challenge! Also, I'd want near-ideal installation so I'm willing to pay. Especially since I prefer smoke/charcoal non-metallic tint (matches my NSX better & won't diminish the V1 radar's range). It seems to have the same specs/characteristics of other quality tints on the market. Perhaps some of the tint-experts/installers can offer more insights!

What % tint were you thinking of going w/? Match the doors w/ the hatch?

I think you'll find that you won't save much - most of the cost is in the installation I would expect. However you'll find when you go to a shop there will be a number of different material options, not just the %. These obviously vary in cost compared to quality - not sure whatyou are getting in the E-Bay deal, you may want to see what you're getting first hand & relative to other choices.
As to %, I went with 20% on rear and 40% on doors.

I tried the precut tint on the front doors of my Tahoe awhile back. I took my time, and followed every step perfectly. It was a real pain in the butt (keep in mind, it was only the front door glass) and when it was done, I couldn't help but think of what a waste of time it all was. They look good from a few feet, but now EVERY SINGLE TIME I get into it, I pay attention to a few tiny bubbles that never went away...one of these days I will probably have someone rip it back off, and redo it for 100 bucks! I also saw this option with the X on Ebay....don't do it. I paid 220 for the NSX, and it looks PERFECT. This car gets WAY too much attention from people to have it any other way. When I was making calls on tint, I asked all of them how long they have been installing tint, and how confident they were, working on big back window like a Corvette (You get a  when you say NSX...they all know what you are talking about when you say Corvette). Most of them were honest, and I decided to go with the guy that had been doing it for 13 years. I was thrilled with how it turned out.

only requirement: quality...!

Fair enough! You got me Ken... I wasn't sure that there was significant difference in tint quality/specs' when comparing economical tints (as I assumed the pre-cut Ebay tints are) and other premium, higher spec' tints. I'm not the fussiest person in the world, however for tints I'd be quite demanding... it's all in the details, as mentioned by others!

Jae5150, was it that the tint materials (Ebay) were not upto your expectations or the install wasn't to your satisfaction on your Tahoo?

As Jae5150 stated, it's perhaps bests' to go w/ a quality tint-job for the NSX.

The precut material I got for the Tahoe was 3M, so the film was good, and the precut was good. I am a great "do it yourselfer", and I didn't rush the job...I am just not a professional tint installer. I spent alot of time with prep, and installation. It's just like anything else...practice makes perfect. PLUS...the rear glass is not going to be easy for ANY tint guy. IMO you are far further ahead (mentally, and monetarily) paying someone who does it for a living.

Check the links on Sid's site from my reference above for details of different materials - he has also links for each material directly to the OEM site

get a small needle and pop the holes.... :D

you'll never know it was there.

I tired installing once and man it was hard :D but i would love to try again and again till i get this right. If installers can do it, why cant we?!
