HI Gene,

I was actually one of the first people to use the "prototype" CG lock at a track event and it works great! Bruce Mather, the owner of this company that distributes it was there asking for feedback, and I was one of the lucky ones who got to try one out. I highly recommend it - keeps your waist planted in the seat.

Thanks Gene!

Can't wait to try one.

I use it. Luv it. By far the cheapest mod u can make to stabalize yourself in the stock seat.

I put the seat way back. Lock the CG lock, lock the shoulder belt, then move the seat forward so that I am locked in(as locked as I can be without a harness)

Do you use a second CG lock for the shoulder belt?

No just one CG lock. Remember the seat belts have a passive tensioner for locking the belts. First lock your lap belt with the CG lock. Next, pull the shoulder belt all the way out then let it retract all the way. Then give a quick yank. It should lock. You may have to it a couple of times to get it right.

Given the bashing I am getting on the Knee Pad thread :D ... am I correct when reading the installation and the workings of the CG lock that you can't engage/disengage its functionality at will? Once installed, it will be permanently fixed in locked position right?

This may still be a reasonable compromise if indeed it does 80% of the what a harness does ....!

Nope. It has a quick release lever to adjust/release the tension.

Hmmmmm, the way I read the info, the quick release tension is not automatic like the oem, you have to manually release the tension to the desired comfort then it will lock itself at that level "permanently" - a relative time frame until the next adjustment no? So it cannot be disengaged to act just like an oem, right?
