My car is almost due for the 90k service and I was thinking of replacing the transmission and differential fluids. A gear head friend of mine recommended Royal Purple. He was a die-hard Redline advocate until trying this other stuff once made a believer out of him.

Anyone concur?

Also there's three to choose from in their website. I'm thinking the "Max-Gear" is appropriate?

i would suggest to stick with OE MFR recommendation.. i have never heard of going wrong with MFR stuff.

but i have heard lots of dieaster for experiment gone bad.. the consequences can be pretty sad, thinner wallet and wounded pride.

eg. redline atf-d4 in supra 6 spds tranny.. even though redline Fu_king recommneded it, they dont back their sh_t up.

Thanks. The reason for me asking is that my gears are kinda notchy. I don't know if I need the 'synchros' or what. But I was told to try the royal purple which was suppose to make it LESS notchy.

DO NOT USE THIS IN YOUR TRANNY!

I did and toasted my tranny, later were told by the RP engineers that it was never designed for an NSX.

MB helped with the rebuild but it cost me a bunch in parts.

Dali Racing sells Royal Purple motor & tranny oil. You can take that for what it's worth, but I'd do some further inquiring about replacing OEM recommended fluids.
