Was wondering if anyone painted their valve covers the same red as their car.
If you did, can you post some pics or send them to me.

Please post a pic.

I used Dupli-Cololr High Heat engine paint and it matched pretty good and has held up very well.<br><a href="http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff55/korttothenee/?action=view&current=NSX002.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff55/korttothenee/NSX002.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a><br><a href="http://s239.photobucket.com/albums/ff55/korttothenee/?action=view&current=NSX003.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff55/korttothenee/NSX003.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

i heard one of the cons of powdering coat is that the extra layer you're putting on the valve covers/ maybe even the supercharger retains the heat more? like wearing a jacket on a hot day?

I didn't do the Valve Covers - but I did do the trim pieces. WAY less money and time involved (about 1/2 a day and $6.00 worth of Rustoleum paint). They have held up for about 5 years.

Thanks you all very much for the quick response.
I am NOT going to do it.
Thanks

Its just not for me....
I really wanted the other red with the crinkle look like the R-type I think.
Just my opinion, thats all.

^^ i am in contact with a company that i will be using to ceramic coat and powdercoat. They have been in the business a long time and do special coatings for rifles as well. They can do any color and can do the crinkle coat as well. As the other member stated above they recommended NOT ceramic coating intake pieces as it would retain heat more. However they have a special powdercoat that actually takes heat away in a sense. So i plan on ceramic coating a turbo manifold and then powercoating all the intake plumbing.

I love that yellow themed engine bay!

Thanks! All that's left for me to do is to swap out a few of the stock black hoses for yellow silicon, ditch the big white milk carton, and add some touch-up paint, and the engine bay will be just as envisioned.

Here's another peek, through the carbon fiber, clear lexan engine cover:

Is that the engine cover downforce sells?

Looks awesome, but adding yellow hoses might just be too much of the good stuff and draws attention from the covers.

You can buy VHT high temp wrinkle red spray cans. I like the wrinkle red much more than the glossy look. They work pretty well. Especially if you follow the directions and use a hair dryer after spraying to give it more of a wrinkle effect.

I god SummitRacing to price match a competitor. I forgot which one. Do a search on google.

VHT-SP-204 High Temp Wrinkle Red. The red turns out very close to the NSX-R red.

Yellow NSX
Yes, be careful with too much yellow, you have a nice contrast going right now.
Nice

Got any pics? Did you spray wrinkle paint OVER the OEM black wrinkle paint or sandblast them first or what?

Thanks

Here is a pic of my 94 engine bay.

Powder coating color was chosen to match the car.
