I will be moving to the island in April, and was wondering if anyone else resided on the Island. Where are the places to go for servicing in the Mid-Island (Nanaimo-Parksville area)? I know there is only one Acura dealer, in Victoria, but that is a bit of a drive for me.

You have a few guys to hang out with in Victoria (Joboo, Paris, etc.) - but no good service, you may have to come back to the mainland for that...

BTW - why you moving there for?

The NSX and the S2000 people usually get together once in a while and we have some pretty nice cruises.

Watch for the Island Poker run coming up in August and you can review, on here, the postings from last year.

Paris and Jason are really good people. There are quite a few more that we can introduce you to in Victoria and a few more up the island.

Hi
I'm in Qualicum Beach and have done my own maintenance on my 91 since new.I am familiar with most of the procedures.
I have a car hoist so if you want some help looking after your NSX send me an email
Be glad to help

Jim

Oops! Almost forgot about Jim!

Is the move permanent Charles?

Thanks for the replies. I do the simple maintenance myself, but not sure if I'm ready to tackle the larger items like clutch, timing belt, etc. I will probably get a 4-post lift for my garage, and possibly something like a Max-Jax later on. Jim, I might be calling on you for some help in the near future.

Wil, I am moving to the Island due to a much-needed break. Got sick and tired of dead people, so I sold my house and am moving to someplace cheaper. Not sure what I will end up doing there, but hopefully I won't have a pressing need to work (or at least work full-time).

Charles

I have a four post lift from carlift.ca that really helps maintenance and detailing the lower regions of our cars as well as increasing storage space.

I've done all the usual fluid and filter changes, all the coolant hoses, speaker amps, climate control cpu, window thingies, Hugo's window regulator kit and just completing Cantrell header and exhaust installation. Next will be removing the 91 OEM dampers and installing 98 OEM dampers with Tein S-tech springs.

There are three other NSX owners in Qualicum. For the very tough jobs we have a retired certified Porsche mechanic who has a complete shop in Qualicum Beach

Send me an email when you get settled and come over for coffee.

Jim

Hey Jim,

I don't think we've met before. I'm in Victoria and sounds like a good excuse to cruise up to Qualicum to meet an original owner!

Jason.
