Is anyone near Uncasville CT, off 395?
I came across these seats at http://www.customracingseats.com/

Very affordable, possible alternative to a stock seat re-cover, with many custom options of colours, materials.

Can anyone check them out first-hand to get an idea of the quality? If they look decent maybe we could even do a group buy .... would definitely like to have someone check them out personally though.

Contact info is listed on the site (tel #, e-mail etc) but is a PO box address in Uncasville.

Too bad the NSX is not in season in the Northeast at this time of year because otherwise we might have been able to get a group drive together to head up to the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville and get a bunch of opinions for you. I go up there a few times a year but have no immediate plans to make a trip unfortunately.

Ah yes, the great frozen tundra! Puts a damper on things unfortunately!

I got a reply back from Mark at their info desk - I'm also not sure about the size, it will be tight. (they do a base too for the NSX incidentally)

Here are the dimensions - the critical one is that between the adjuster knobs - it depends if they end up above the door sill area.

Also an example of what they look like - Recaro style seat.

Strange.

Who makes a racing seat without a hole(s) for a 5 point or 6 point harness?? Also I really saw nothing about safety ratings, etc. Seems like these guys make show/no go seats. Ken, did they say anything about safety?

I hear you Larry - but just about "show" for me I'm afraid - cost-effective solution similar to cost of recovering stock seats. I'm sure that's the "market" they're aiming at rather than serious racers. I don't think this is that different from the premium vendors (sparco, recaro) on their "street" series seats which are typically for 4 point at best?

The workmanship on the covers looks quite good from what I can see in the pics. This is essentially a copy of a Recaro SRD or Speed.

I'm not too far away & know the area. Can you find out if they have a physical store w/ address and/or directions? I'm debating heading down that way to look at an '02 at Girard Toyota (girardtoyota.com, click on preowned and look at '02 NSX) which they have had since Aug & the price hasn't moved. It just snowed again last night, maybe that will help lower it, who knows.

I'm a former NSX-T owner(1995-2004) and I live ~ 5 miles away from Girard Toyota. FWIW, I know that one of the owner's (there are 3 principles who own approx 10 dealerships in SE, CT) sons purchased this 2002 NSX-T at an auction in 2004 and spent most of the summer driving it around. Now he is looking to unload it and I would be surprised if he's willing to significantly lower the price, however, it may not hurt to ask. I would recommend that you have the car thoroughly inspected. It just so happens that this group also owns an Acura dealership (Antonino Acura in Groton, CT) and yes this car has been serviced at their Acura dealership in Groton.

Good Luck!
