Anyone know what this is?

So I opened my hood today and discovered a mysterious widget laying loose and I am hoping someone can identify this. It looks like this could very possibly be a piece of a tool left behind by someone other than myself

It's about 2 inches in length and has what appears to be something like sandpaper at the end (the reddish brown part)

Ideas?

That's a piece of the Type R-Special exhaust, have you checked your VIN number? Maybe you have that model. If your car feels real fast, then you do.:tongue:
