A friend of a friend is looking at this car:

http://www.canadatrader.com/result/detailinfo.aspx?ID=29026086&pgno=1&srt=1

He said it looked and drove nice but that the check engine light came on during the test drive. The salesman told him that it was an O2 sensor. He asked if I could look at it but before I did I thought I would ask if anyone here knows the history of the car. A couple of things make me leery of it - a) the car is for sale at a little no name lot in a poorer section of town and b) When I was looking for a car I saw this advertisement and that was 2 months ago. Why hasn't it moved if it is in good condition?

Any info you guys might have would be appreciated.

Could be the 02 sensor as that's common on NSX's and the car may not have moved due to its age (hard to get financing) or pricing.

But the link doesn't pinpoint to an exact NSX. Having used the search function on Autotrader I saw the following NSX's in Calgary:

1. Country Auto Sales - Red 1992 with 77,000km's for $39,900 (not bad deal)
2. Richview Fine Auto Sales - Red 1991 Automatic with 110,000km's for $35,900 (not a good deal in my opinion)
3. Calgary Honda - Red 1991 with 115,809 km's for $43,000 (YIKES! Expensive)

I also noticed the nice 1995 NSX-T being sold in Edmonton with only 38,000kms. I'd have your buddy take a look at that car as you might be able to get it for close to $40K or $45K.

The Black nsx-t here in Edmonton is owned by Robin who owns Rockies Battery on the south side. The car doesn't have a dust particle on it if you know what I mean. He wont let it go for that cheap. So he will just keep it. He has the cash.
You can have my 91 with a refreshed Sos Engine and Trans for about 46,000 if you want!!!

I clicked your link and it did not produce an ad for any NSXs.

Also, O2 sensors are pretty common. Mine just went out a few weeks ago. The easy way to tell is to pay to get an inspection at an Acura dealer and have them pull the code.

I just clicked the link and it came up fine. Weird...

I looked at the car and it looks clean. The car has a fairly strong vibration at idle that you can feel in the steering wheel. It smoothes out when you rev it. I didn't drive the car so I don't know how it drives. No obvious body damage although the car could really use a mechanical cleaning - a lot of fluid debris around the ABS area of the car. The engine bay also could use a good shampooing. One thing I did notice was that the area around the ignition switch has some marks on it (saw like - as if someone pulled it out at one time) on the perimeter of the hard plastic circle that surrounds the rubber seal around the ignition switch itself. Could the plastic have been damaged by taking the dash apart? Possibly to remove the gauge cluster? Or replace the ignition switch? They told me that the car was owned by the same guy for 8 years in High River. The paint looks good with very few rock chips. I didn't see any obvious signs of repainting. They also say the car was completely checked out by Silverhill Acura.

I was just hoping that someone here would know the previous owner and have some information on the car.

I'll sell anything once, then its gone.
Got the VTR-1000 up for sale for 6g.
Sorry for hijacking the thread.
