Don't know much about the metallurgy of performance brake pads (or even stock brake pads)... reason I'm posting is that today California outlawed use of copper in brake pads.

Any comments from a knowledgeable person on the impact on the car buff world?

well heres a quote on that

"all brake pads must contain less than 5-percent copper content starting in 2021"

so I think we have some time.

Understand we have some time... the question is: do our (high performance) brake pads contain more or less copper than the typical pad (internet says 20% copper content), and if "yes" how important is copper to the performance we're used to?
Does copper impact longevity? "Dusting"? Stopping power? Noise (squeaking)?
