Anyone have Taitec headers and a GTLW?

Do the Taitec headers change the sound of the exhaust at all (tone, volume, etc.)? Thanks.
Any header will probably change the sound of exhaust slightly. While I love Taitec products. Their header actually have smaller OD than Comptech. In this case I would go with Comptech or SOS over Taitec.

On the same dyno, same day, both NA1. The one with header dynoed just 4rwhp over no header, probably due to larger heavier wheels.

Taitec GTLW with DC header

Taitc GTLW with stock exhaust manifold

Adding headers will definitely alter the exhaust sound. I have the GTLW but no headers yet. I'm going to buy the SoS headers. They have all the best features of their competitors and a very attractive price.

Thanks for the responses. Let me see if I got this straight. The OD of the Taitec is smaller. The Comptech uses unequal length tubing. SoS is equal length and has a larger OD than the Taitec. What about DC headers? Thanks.

Honestly I don't know about the DC headers. But in the grand scheme of things, they're only headers. A couple of feet of tubing for your engine to fart through. How much of difference could possibly exist between the 'best" and the "worst"? On top of that how do you judge? Raw HP gain only? Quality of construction? Ease of customer service? I trust SoS, I have always had great dealings with them and they have a product that appealsto me, so in this case, they get my money.

Since I have a '93 with stuffy old intake manifolds, I'm upgrading. I think the '97 and up cars have headers from the factory don't they?

Since you're in CA too, I want to make sure you know that unfortunately the Comptech header is the only CARB approved header on the market.

The SOS unit looks like a very nice piece and if you have a friendly smog guy that you can trust every other year, than don't worry about it. I'm not that lucky.

Hi Da Hapa. Thanks for your concern. I think the DC headers are also CARB exempt.

PM me if you need one, don't even have to drop the car off.
Thank amigo. I wish I had known that sooner I just went through a ringamarole (sp?) getting my car smogged in May. What a complete pain in the ass and joke.
