Anyone going to the St Pete Grand Prix April 4-6?

I will be in FL during the Grand Prix - April 4-6. Have not been to this event since 1986 or so. Most likely will go Saturday. Anyone else going?

Wanted to know the best seats (reserved or general) for watching action on the track.

This is one of those things I tell myself I should attend every year and then don't. I'll be watching this thread too, I could still make it this year.

I will be there. Ive gone the last few years with the S2000 group.

I prefer general admission. I like to walk around the track to check out all the action. If you dont like walking too much I like the stands on the bay side of the track.

Any suggestions where would be the best place for someone with a decent SLR camera and a 300mm zoom lens?

I'll be there and. There's a nice big carousel turn at the end of the airport that always seem to get some nice action. That's a good spot for a camera.

btw anyone going to the festival of speed this weekend. Always some beautiful vehicles there.

Im in the same boat Skippy. I did not get press credentials so Ill be poking around trying to find a good place to shoot.

Like someone mentioned there is a grand stand where you could shoot fom high up through the first couple of turns off the long straight. I guess the options are getting high up o shoot over the 2 fences or attempting to find some gaps to shoot through. Dont think you will have any good opportunities for any great panning shots.
