Anyone else catch the Ultimate Fighter finale Saturday on Spike TV? It was pretty awesome watching Albuquerque's own Diego Sanchez whip the crap out of Kenny Florian to become the Ultimate Fighter. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of him in the future, although he's in a tough weight division. Rich Franklin, who handily beat Ken Shamrock on Saturday night as well, is going to drop down to the 185-lb class. I think Diego might be okay in the 170-lb class, but he'd lose a lot of his power in doing so.

How about the Griffin/Bonner fight? Wow, that was one awesome slugfest! I thought it was hella cool for them to offer Bonner a contract in addition to Griffin. No losers in that fight, and I'm sure we'll probably see a Bonner/Griffin rematch in a UFC one day.

Shamrock looked pretty solid up until he slipped and let Franklin rush him. I was surprised at how easily Ken quit defending himself after a few hard punches. I like Franklin as a person, and I was glad to see him win. When Rogan was interviewing Ken after the fight, it almost sounded like Ken was retiring and that was his last fight.

Hat's off to Diego. I watched him fight at a "King of the Cage" bout here in New Mexico a couple of years ago. He had a pretty solid game then, and he's come a long way. Hope he does well in the UFC!

Anyone going to get pay-per-view of the Couture/Liddell fight next weekend? Hell, I'll bet that a few of you will be there in person!

UFC just doesn't do it for me anymore. It's getting to be too much like the WWF. There aren't that many good fighters left in the UFC, I do like Randy but that's about it. Why are old timers like Ken Shamrock and Kimo still fighting?

PrideFC I do like though. The rules allow for a bit more punishment and the guys on there are just badder.

I will catch the Couture/Liddell fight on PPV though. I can't see it being any different than their first fight except maybe this time it will go to a decision for Randy. I like Chuck, he's a cool guy... It was hard watching my friend beat him up in Pride. It's amazing how heavy handed he is. The fight he won vs. Tito though was definitely because he thumbed Tito in the eye, stunned him with that, and then went in for a vicious knockout. That rematch is more interesting than the Couture rematch. The Couture fight is just gonna be another GNP snoozefest unless Chuck lands a good shot.

But Pride is just a lot more interesting with Fedor, Mirko, Vanderlei, etc. Plus you get those crazy matchups like Crocop vs. Bob Sapp. The Japanese appreciate MMA so much more...

The Griffin/Bonner fight was AWESOME!!!
Was really disappointed the Shamrock slipped.
Franklin did the right thing - rushed in for a kill.
Was hoping the main event would last longer.

yeah, same here....it was dissapointing when Shamrock slipped...oh well, maybe it's time for his retirement..

Franklin is a stud for sure. Personally I still like UFC better than pride although I've only seen pride once. Maybe it's just the production quality of UFC I like better. Seems like UFC have slightly better fighters since Silva didn't do too much in UFC... maybe I'm wrong.

Silva got knocked out by a prime Belfort (mentally and physically) in UFC Brazil. Today would be a totally different story. Pride fighters are on a different level currently. UFC sent over Liddell and he got wasted in his 2nd Pride fight, nearly knocked out in the 1st fight by Overeem. The Gracies who dominated UFC regularly get beaten in Pride. But I agree, the show value of UFC is better than Pride. You don't get the huge crowds for UFC like you get at the Saitama Super Arena though.

Watch a couple more current Pride events, you will see what I mean.
