Anyone bought NSX because of NSXPRIME?

I should re-phrase the question. I noticed that NSX owners (especially the members in NSX Prime) are just so much down to earth, and genuinely good-hearted people without any types of bias or pretentiousness.

It is hard to find such enthusiasm and characteristics from other exotic/sports/luxury car owners or forums.

I do not want to generalize about other car owners too much since we are all "car" enthusiasts. However, more than 50% of me is telling me that I would rather hang out with NSX owners than say.. Porsche owners (don't get me wrong.. I like some of the members in rennlist, and my father has one, but some of them are quite pretentious).

Did anyone buy NSX simply because NSX club and owners are so amazing? I am wondering if having an NSX transform you into a good person

If so, it's priceless.

I don't know about that, I'd say the cause and effect is the opposite - the NSX is a car that will just naturally tend to attract great folks. People who buy the NSX are great admirers of quality, precision, engineering excellence, they are enthusiasts of the car itself rather than the various prestige-related 'perks' that come w/ some other marques.

For the same money, they could have bought a (older) Ferrari or Lotus or something, and they would have impressed their neighbors more, picked up more floozies, gotten the valet to park their cars closer to the front, looked richer, squandered more in maintenance costs, etc etc etc. (Disclaimer: some owners of those cars truly prefer the unique 'character' of their cars - this does not apply to them.)

Or, they could have bought a Viper or Z06 Vette, and laid down far longer stripes of black rubber.

But, instead they opted for the car w/ no nameplate prestige, and which has its focus on precision and quality rather than brute force. And I think that says a little something about NSX'ers themselves.

Perfectly stated.

I see the NSX community as icing on the cake

I agree about the benifits of membership. I have met some great people and have had some fantastic times through the years. Hard to imagine ever wanting more out of a car or out of a club.

One thing about this list and our club is the continuity.

More or less we all basically have the exact same car. Thus we are "closer" together then many other clubs are IMO.

I'd like to add that I was not a very social person before owning my dream car...a need to share my uncontrolable enthusiasm for the NSX is what started my search for other owners via NSX Prime and eventually through the NSXCA.

Meeting other NSXers has definitely been an unexpected bonus.

yeah, i'd like the agree with Tiger740 that i've also noticed that the community on NSX prime is amazing... every now and then there's talk on a ferrari/lotus/corvette ... no narrowminded people like some ferrari owners i've met.

perhaps the NSX attracts a certain type of buyer... or maybe it's just that we're all united because of the NSX. If they shipped enough NSX's to the middle east, there might be world peace afterall. :P

ive always loved the NSX. but nsxprime definitely gave me the extra push i needed. i have never driven an NSX before. I didnt even see or test drive the one i bought (car located in VA, im in So Cal). the acura mechanic simply said. "Sure doesnt look and drive like a car that has 120K miles." that was all i needed and the rest is history.

markbert: sorry man... wasn't getting carried away... why else has the japanese war-machine remained dormant since WW2 when they were fighting against china/korea for 1000's of years... has to be the NSX...

..ok...now i'm getting carried away...

I got ny Nsx as payment for a job I did .
I went to nsxprime to see if I got a good deal or not. I must have got the better end of that deal because I am still here every day. You get to see all the different mods people do to there cars and its contagious This site should come with a disclamer
WARRNING THIS SITE IS ADICTIVE TO YOUR POCKET BOOK!
I went to my first Nsx meet last week end met alot of great people that I wouldnt have ever ben interduced to. It didnt matter if you were young or old an owner or a wantabee
every one was into the experince. It has improved my social skills. Un like my Ferrari experence when know one wants to talk to you because your to young. People on the street wont talk to you because your stuck up. Tell some one its a Honda they will talk your ear off.

NeoNSX, I am not saying the THEORY was wrong, just the application. I agree that NSX = World Peace + Happiness (maybe slightly localized, to your point). However, I don't know too many people around here who want to give up their NSX and ship it over to the middle east!

I would say that this site had alot to do with me buying a NSX. I was looking at a few marques, and this site gave me the confidence that the NSX is a great car. So I bought one.

I disagree with the tone of NeoNSX's statement "yeah, i'd like the agree with Tiger740 that i've also noticed that the community on NSX prime is amazing... every now and then there's talk on a ferrari/lotus/corvette ... no narrowminded people like some ferrari owners i've met."

Every car club has a few narrowminded people including some NSX owners. I don't think that we should look at a few and paint the entire group as being "narrowminded". Most owners of any car will brag about how great their car is, including us. I persoanlly know numerous owners of Ferraris and I believe the vast majority of them are some of the nicest people I know.

I guess I will never understand why so many people on this forum take shots at owners of other marques. Just because they love their car? I just don't get it.

I'm NSXed: clarification... what i am saying about the community on nsxprime being open minded is true... i wasn't being sarcastic or anything.

although i only have eyes for the nsx, i also enjoy many other cars such as the S2000, diablo, porsches, f50 & ferrari 360... and many other exotic cars. i think i speak for most guyz on this site... although we like other cars, the nsx is the sweetest. but no point being narrowminded and saying "the nsx is best; everything else sux" coz that's not true....

...anyway... i'm nsxed too. *dreamy smile*
