Anybody use an oil extractor for oil change?

I'm not a huge fan of the concept and would prefer to drain the oil through the drain plug, just in case any heavy particles, sludge, etc... can exit the pan easier than being sucked up a tube.

Doing an oil change the old fashioned way gives you the opportunity to regularly inspect the undercarriage of your NSX. Yes, sucking it out is less messy (assuming the machine swallows) but peeking under the skirt every once in awhile does have its advantages.

I use an oil extractor and I still get to look up the skirt too (I gotta get the filter off, right??). It's a great way to do an oil change in my opinion. I check out everything when I'm taking the filter off and make sure all is well, but the bulk of the oil is neatly contained in the oil sucker outer. That's the technical term.

I have an extractor - and I don't use it. I have to go under the car anyone for the filter and the extractor doesn't save time, hassle, and is equally as pain in the ass to empty out as the plastic containment tubs to catch the oil that I prefer to use.

I also feel that letting it drain out vs. extracting allows you to get more old oil out.

To each their own I guess.

I don't like things which are laying around in the garage and are only used once a year. Room is costly and $50 are also. :)

What kind of extractor do you use?
