Was thinking of wrapping my car instead of just a boring respray same color up front...always wanted a typeR replica look of the white car, black roof with white rims:cool: I figure it is a great way to change the look of your car without paying $$$$ and maintaining the original color...and you can go back to stock anytime you want....

anybody know of a good wrap specialist???

Been quoted anywhere from $1900 to $2400 from the local shops around me.....

I'm going to try plastidip. First doing the wheels in metallic gunmetal. If it turns out OK I will do the rest of the car in satin pearl white.

Was going to do same, but after seeing what a car with it up close I decided no.... Looks good from 20 feet away but up close, not so good... Too much texture, it's ok on rims though... Let me know what you end up doing.

It's all in the application. Yes I have see some dips that look like truck liner. But then there are some that really made me go WOW! These 2 colors in particular looks amazing even in the close up shots. For $700 it's not a bad deal until I save up enough for a full respray.

skip to 5:50 to see the walkaround

And this is the color I am going for, Balloon Pearl White

Love the white one... That's the color I'm planning on going with...plasti dip looks good on video and pics, but I had a chance to see multiple cars in person done by a professional shop and they all have that slight texture that turns me off... But for the price you can't really complain. Also I've heard you shouldn't leave it in for more then 9 months where a wrap is good for over 5 years....let us know how it turns out.

My car is dipped. I agree that it looks great in some pics but in person and up close, you can tell there's a bit of texture. It's very difficult to apply correctly. It's a great temporary solution though.

how much is it to plasti dip anyway? Does it come off clean without taking off paint? I have very good paint on mine, don't want to jack it up.

Dip when done by a good installer is very smooth and beautiful. Just not a gloss finish. Satin is beautiful. It doesn't do anything to your paint and is easy to remove. It's all in the installer
