The mechanic told me there was a small leak in the evaporator behind the dash. He said I could probably charge the system a couple times a year and be fine, for at least a while. It blows cold by the way. My concern with acura replacing it is that they said they have to take the dash off and I just cant imagine them being able to get that back on without creating a creaky sounds and breaking all kinds of clips in it.
Somebody with experience with this please chime in.
Thanks in advance

And out of curiosity, if you do not use your A/C can that extend the life of the freon inside, or does it leak all the time no matter if your using it or not?

Better to use it periodically and keep the oil circulating in the system. This will keep the seals from drying out. Good idea to even run it once or twice over the winter months:).

I mean if you have a leak though. If you use it more will it leak faster or does it leak no matter what.
thanks

Thanks. Guess I will just keep running it.
