Having Speed (newly renamed; used to be SpeedVision) doesn't help nearly as much if you want to watch WRC or other types of racing as it used to. It's been taken over by the masses: NASCAR. Instead of tuning in to see Richard Burns and Company race through incredible scenery at insane speeds using amazing skills, we get Darrell Waltrip and others talking Nextel Cup. Yippee.

I wish NASCAR would go ahead and get their own channel, and leave the real racing alone on Speed. WRC, F1, American LeMans and the vintage races are all more entertaining than "Go fast, turn left, repeat ad nauseum."

Just my opinion, of course. I'll get off the soapbox now.

Oh no, preach away. I'm also getting tired of looking at the Speed channel to find NASCAR this and NASCAR that and then thinking I found a show that doesn't sound like it would be NASCAR, and it still is. What is it, the most watched spectator sport or soemthing? I mean NASCAR is nuts, not having their own channel is suprising, it's not like they don't have enough to show 24/7 365. You can only watch so many left turns

Speaking of Burns, I remembered that last time I saw him raced WRC on TV (or any type of racing for that matter) was toward the end of 2003 season when he was 3rd (?) in driver's championship, but was diagnosed with brain tumors that made him permanently unfit to race ever again? Can anyone verify this?

I'll verify that... I haven't heard any new news of his condition, but it would be worth it to visit his fan sites.

And YES! Big WRC fan here!!!! In fact I am trying to get a business model together to bring the WRC back into the USA. Anyone want to be an exclusive investor? :)

You'll be my hero if you do!

I think those are the best drivers on the planet hands down. I don't get a chance to see them very much of TV but do enjoy it when I do.
Some of those fans standing on the side of the roads while those cars come flying down the road at better than 100 mph!!

A little side step off topic, but does anyone know where you can buy rally videos? I have tons of them that I've downloaded, but they are just shorter ones set to music. Are there any videos out there to buy that I could watch on a home theater?

I think your best bet is ask for Speed Channel from your local cable provider and set your VCR to dub them when they're on.
