Any tips on detailing my engine compartment?

Just acquired a high-mileage NSX and she needs a good detailing in the engine compartment. My budget at this time calls for a self-service job.

I've heard to cover up the fuse boxes so that water doesn't get in. Other than that, I can just spray on the "engine degreaser" stuff and rinse it off with water. Is this correct?

Any tips at all would be greatly appreciated!
