Ever notice that after you bring your car in for service, something ELSE seems to go wrong RIGHT AWAY?? Well, that's just what happened to me. NEVER saw the stupid thing light up at ALL (except at start), but now that my car has returned from the 3rd trip back to the dealer to have them try and get the alignment right (yea... took them 3 times... and didn't even need it in the first place. Ok, that's a different story) the ANTI-LOCK light is now nice and bright. Happened on the way back.

Anyway, my question is, does anyone know what will cause the light to go on? Obviously it's a problem somewhere in the system, but I was looking for more specifics. Is it something they could have accidentally done when plying with my car, or is it something that really only is coincidience.

Thanks for any help!

They probably engaged the anti-lock system while “testing” your car and it malfunctioned. I’d take it back and say that the light wasn’t on when you took it in and was on when you picked it up. When this light is on, it means that the system is deactivated and it can be for several reasons: bad wheel sensor, blown fuse, and more common, a malfunctioning valve in the control unit. Hopefully it’s just a wheel sensor or wheel sensor wire that they knocked loose during their alignment trials.
