Kevin, you can buy just the mast (the extending part) complete with the internal nylon "fishing-line" type feeder that the motor drives for ~ $50. The NSX antenna is notorious for problems regarding the extension (many of them have the infamous "chatter" as they get to the fully retracted position, caused by minor tweaks or bends, or sometimes just dirt)
I would recommend against buying a used one and just get the new mast.
