My antenna abruptly stopped working today (in the UP position, of course). I have searched the FAQ and 9 pages of results on the word "antenna" and "antennae" but no real solid answers. My motor works fine because it's running when the radio is turned on/off but the thing just won't retract. The bottom segment of the mast while slide up/down manually about 4". Then it stops. The mast has been lubed multiple times to no avail.
I really want to DIY it with this problem. I have loosened the chrome nut a turn or two and re-tightened it based on someone's experience per the FAQ section. This did not help. Any ideas?
