Hi Guys.

I've been thru this old page about installing an Antenna cut-off switch. About half way down the link are some pics on the location in the wire loom I'm trying to get to - just in front of the drivers door.

My incredibly stupid question is:

How do I take the trims off to get to where I can peel the carpet back and get to the loom?

Or more accurately, what do I take off in what order to get to this location?

Thanks a million. Terrence

R2.... just the man I was looking for !!!!!

How do I take the interior apart to get to the conduit???

I could start ripping - but that's probably expensive....

I build racecars - so all the bolts are in the right place. I have no idea how they (you) do all the good-looking stuff wo/ fastners.

Thanks. Terrence

You need to remove the fuel release opener knob (slides off toward the front) and pull straight up on the side sill pad releasing the two clips. Then you need to remove the fuse box lid and the side sill trim. There are two screws behind the fuse box lid and one under the side sill pad. There is also a plastic clip just to the right of the hood release. After you remove the screws you pull the side sill trim toward the rear to release the plastic clip.

After looking at what it took to install the antenna switch in the rocker panel, I bought the Smartenna from Dali. Took 10 minutes to put in and works like advertised....

OUTSTANDING !!!

Mike - THANKS a MILLION. If you don't mind my asking - Where did you get that drawing?

GT5 - thanks for the advise. I thought about that, but decided to do the switch becuase I'm using the cassette player to play my mp3's at the moment and wanted to keep the antenna down with that going.

Thanks again , everyone.

I was going to try to tell you what comtec posted...luckily for you he found that picture!

That's why I did the switch as well. Old school tape usage. Old habits die hard  .

You are welcome, glad i could help.

That pic was uploaded by D'Ecosse from another post and that is why i showed it as quoted by him. I believe it is from the NSX Electrical Troubleshooting Manual.

I got my switch at Advance Auto Parts (Conduct-Tite #85924 black on-off rocker switch) and it is a very close match in color and texture to the under dash cover.

I use a monster cable fm transmitter to play my ipod and it works very good.

Cheers
