The left speaker on my NSX has been at a considerably lower level than my right. I've been listening to my stereo with the balance almost all the way to the left to even it out. All this time I've been thinking that the amp is about to go. Then today while driving I heard a pop come from the right speaker. The music level stayed the same but I heard a buzzing under it. It turned out that the right speaker had popped and became to play at a low level. But all of a sudden, my left speaker has great sound. So then I move the balance over to the right to even it out. After a few miles of popping and buzzing, the right speaker came back and full power. So now, both speakers are working fine and I have my balance in the middle.

Could it have been my head unit which was the problem the whole time? I'm pretty sure my speakers are going too, but it just seems odd that the left and right levels switched today.

Hey I have the same problem.. my driverside is louder. It can out balanced and lateron off balanced.. weird.. maybe its because I pulled the sub woofer amp out..

time to replace both amps.. the speakers generally outlast the ampswhich will go around 8/10 years. check FAQ for where to replace the amps. good luck.

I put some "alternative" to replace the sub woofer amp... the balance is right up again!
