I guess it depends on the institution. When I bought my NSX, I just wnet to my Credit Union with the wire transfer information of the seller and off the money went. I received the title about 1 week later in the mail and the car about 5 week later. My bank didn't ask for any information about the car. They didn't even ask why I was sending money to someone or what I was using the money for. I guess if you are taking out a load that is a different story, but my money came right out of my savings account. The only institution that wanted to see a title and the car itself was my insurance company.
