Adam-12 is a television police drama, which followed two uniformed officers - Reed and Malloy - as they patrolled the streets of Los Angeles in their patrol unit, 1-Adam-12. Created by Jack Webb of Dragnet fame, the series tried to capture a day in the life of a typical patrol officer as realistically as possible. The show ran for 7 seasons on NBC, from 1968 through 1975, and helped introduce police procedures and police jargon to the general public. In 1990, the series was remade as The New Adam-12.
