I was in my local dealer yesterday, Acura of Pleasanton, CA & they have a black '02 for sale with a big (or small, depending on your persepctive) ticket hanging from the mirror at $74,800.
I think there was another (silver)listed in the Bay Area a few weeks back too - seems like this is going rate for them right now.
Sales guy said they picked it up from another dealer, now costing them too much to have it sitting on the floor.
The problem with new ones going at this price, it sure nails the value of existing cars.

I am familair with the pricing of newer NSXs as I own a 98-T and have helped quite a few with their search of new ones through Niello Acura - Niello Acura is a sponsor of the Sacramento Chapter of NSXCA.

In general, unless the buyer has not had any exposure to such forums as the NSXPrime or NSX mailing lists, often a new NSX can be purchased/leased around $73.5K to $75K during the summer months/fall depending on whether the dealer swapped the car or has added a few options or has more than one serious inquiry on it .......

Don't expect this pricing in the first few months of the model year. The dealer may go as low as $79K to $80K. Acura offers rebates, and occasioanly additional customer loyalty to previously Acura owners in the summer and fall months ......

Now, if the 2002 had greater appeal with its headlight, or had some 20 more hp or better brakes to really distinguish iteslf from earlier models, I would think it would have a higher floor but it seems that for the most part it is viewed no differently than the 97+ model years .... which makes the 97+ model year depreciate less quickly in comparative terms to newer models.

Might be, if it has black roof - that is mine in the avatar to the left. Can't mistake it from the rear - has my plate which is same as my 'Prime user-name.
There are a few solid reds around though

Hey Akula1,

If it's a 97-T 9red top) thats probably my ride.
I get up in the Dublin hills every once in awhile but I am mostly down in the flats of Dublin. I have seen a few NSX's here in town and I know of at least 3 that reside here in Dublin.
We need to get together someday for a cruise.

Cheers,
