I have this annoying rattle coming from the plastic casing around the rear view mirror.

Does anyone have a fix for this?
or
Should I just get a new one?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Yea. Switching it has no effect on the rattles, Its the plastic rim around the mirror itself thats rattling, If I hold the edge it stops. It seams like it's not snapped together properly.

If the noise is a high pitched squeek, try removing the plastic lens around the dome light. Drive around and if the squeek is gone, put a light lubricant around the edge of the lens and re-install. It worked for me. Good luck.

If I recall, there is a square u-shaped plastic piece (2"x2") that covers the base of the mirror that is glued to the windshield. When I used my sunshade, it accidentally knocked it off. The piece just clips onto the mirror base and may be the cause of your rattle.

Same rattle..I fixed it by putting a small piece of foam rubber/padding behind the dimmer switch. Just pull it back slightly (not enough to totally "flip" the switch) and wedge a small piece of foam in there..Did the trick for me. Once you do this you will be able to tap around the outer housing without causing it to vibrate.
