An issue of reliability?

Hey all,

What’s is your option of the issue of reliability with a nsx at 60,000, one that I’am considering purchasing. Someone brought up the issue, but I’ve never heard anything bad about the car. Mine you that this is a dealer trying to me sell, his nsx.

Thanks :)

PS a NSX Tech stated "the car was just getting broken in."

There are many owners on this forum that have logged over 100K miles on their cars. My '91 has over 106K miles and it runs as strongly and reliably as ever.

Try a <img src="http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/images/top_search.gif" align=bottom> on reliability and high mileage, and you'll see that 60k on an NSX is inconsequential as long as the maintenance is up-to-date. At 90k miles the timing belt and water pump should be replaced, if not sooner (due to time interval).

Next time you'll receive a beating for asking a question like that. :p

Not necessarily. The recommended service interval is 90K miles or 6 years, whichever comes first, on the '91-96, and 105K/7 years on the '97-04. If the car is a '98 or newer, it is not yet due for the service, based on miles or time. (And, of course, if they have already been replaced once, it depends on how long ago that was done.)

Is the car local to you? If so you may want to post in the S.E. forum and ask a fellow owner in the area to maybe go look at it with you.
The NSX tech you were refering to, does he also work at the dealership? If so, ask to see credentials for your own piece of mind. They should be happy and proud to display them.

D'oh! My bad. I was thinking of my own, which I had mine done at 60k miles. Anyway, a 60k mile car should be trouble free if the maintenance schedule has been followed. ;)

"Man it feels good to be a gangsta".......

That movie is HILARIOUS!!

..."things go lucky, I might be showing her my O-face...O..O..O!"

I will not ask that question again “Now write it a 100 times”

Hi all,

Thanks for the information; I guess 60,000 miles isn’t an issue anymore thanks to all you comedies.

Thanks again

Eh...you're welcome?

60K is not an issue for most cars, a lot of people here have more than 60K on their NSX(s), including myself. Most of us follow the service schedule religiously so mileage hasn't been much of a factor when it comes to reliability.

Realiability is one thing, routine maintanence is another. Maintaining the car is what makes most honda's reliable. Things like timing belt, cv boots are expensive replacements needed depending on your car year. So the car will make it to 100k no problem, but inbetween expect to spend at least 3k in maintanence.
