Am going to be in SOcal for the weekend

I am going to be in socal over the weekend July 18-21, flying into SAN and staying in Carlsbad. Girlfriend is there for a conference and I am meeting her for the weekend and really don't have any set plans. Always good to hook up with someone with local knowledge.

The local CnC is in Carlsbad, every Saturday starting at 7:00AM. Car selection is often just so-so, with only an occasional unique or show-worthy car. The Irvine CnC about 30 miles north of Carlsbad is MUCH better.

There is much to see and do along the coast where you are, but traffic along I-5 can be a bit busy. As you're only in for the weekend, what type of suggestions are you looking for (i.e. restaurants? outdoor activities? local events? etc.?)?

Agree... check out the Irvine CnC if you want to see nice rides, its a big show
Then swing over to Newport Beach to the Mclaren dealer and check out those rides

Certainly visit the beaches and take a hike, catch a sunset

A bit south of there is Torrey Pines Gliderport... neat to see and you can do a tandem ride along if so inclined
Very nice view there

La Jolla is just south of there and its got shops and eats, access to beach, etc
