My fellow NSXCA members:
There is an error on the NSXCA ALMS event annoucement that were mailed last week. The parade lap will be on Saturday July12th, not Friday July 11th as originally announced. As done last year, registration for the parade lap will take place Saturday morning.

thankyou I was perplexed by that.

Sweet. Can we buy tickets for Saturday only through NSXCA or is it a 2 day package deal only?

The RSVPs have been coming in but wanted to bump the thread as a reminder so that no one misses the upcoming registration deadline.

I cannot attend on Friday but would like to come on Saturday. What is the schedule for the day? When do we have to arrive at the track? Also how long does this last so what time can I expect to hit the road home? I may not be able to spend the night before so this is critical information for me, especially if my wife goes. I am also going to Kids day and squeezing this in is getting tricky.

I also saw a post that we need to bring chairs? Why is this necessary if we have a hospitality tent to hang at? Or is it that they won't be able to accommodate everyone?

Too many questions...?

Thanks in advance,

Tytus

No such thing as too many questions (just too many dumb answers.....)

We try to get up there as a group around 9ish in order to have Acura's hospitality area filled with our cars as well as to beat the race day traffic. Generally, we have IMSA as well as other speakers at times during the morning before the parade lap is done generally around noon. Lunch is served after the parade lap if the timing is the same as last year.

The main ALMS race is scheduled to start at 2:05 pm and it is a 2:45 race. Although everyone is welcome to spend the entire day, you will be able to leave when needed as long as you let us know when you are parking so you can get access to your car in the corral.

The track chairs are good because one of the best vantage points is the hill overlooking the left hander. There are no grandstands or seats anywhere at Lime Rock other than what you bring. The hospitality tent will have a closed circuit TV feed with tables and chairs but that will be set up near the skid pad and you would not be able to see the actual live racing from that location (at least not well enough to appreciate it). We always recommend to set up the chairs on the hill first thing in the morning so we will have our space set aside before the crowds hit and we can then head over after lunch.

If your wife comes along, I would also recommend earplugs as it is loud at the track (but sounds SO AWESOME). Bring things to drink and sunscreen as well.

Peter,

I am sending you the application and check today so please count me in. My wife won't be coming so it will just be me. Please post where we will meet on Saturday AM for the drive over. You mentioned an exit off of hwy 684 at 9:00 AM but I can't remember the exit. Must be the heat stroke from NSX Stock.

See you then,

Tytus

We will meet at the infamous rest stop (not the gay "meeting place" on the southbound side, the other one) on the Northbound side of 684 after Hardscrabble Road and before Route 84. That is where the stock swindler recently stashed his RV before faking his suicide.

Bob,

Thanks for the information on the meeting place and I will stay away from RVs parked at the rest stop.

Another question? I have a freind who MAY be interested in attending as well. I won't know until after the dead line but he would ride with me in my car. How late before I can let you know about his attendance and payment?

Regards,

Tytus

So is that going to be the new nomenclature,,,do you go Southbound or Northbound?

Peter is picking up the tickets this weekend most likely. I have left a message with him to see if credentials could still be obtained for the corral after the cutoff date since tickets could still be purchased at the track but we need a headcount for catering. Pete is on the road but one of us will check back in later.

I will be comming alone at this point. My money has already been sent to Peter. See ya there. Too bad about Kids day being cancelled, at least I have this event to look foward to!

Regards,

Tytus

IMSA has posted our schedule for the two days. A copy is attached below. Contrary to some rumors, our parade lap IS NOT after the race but will be in "Prime time" (pun intended) at 11:30 a.m.

Just curious whether parade lap pics were taken this year at Lime Rock. I've checked imsaracing.net and see pics from 2008 for Sebring, but no other pics are posted besides those. Anyone know if pictures were taken?

James:
If I remember correctly it took IMSA quite some time to post the parade lap photos last year. Please remain patient...all good things come to he who waits.

Will do. I'll continue checking their site from time to time for pics.
