ALMS & Grand AM Merger.

Being a fan of the ALMS I do not know how I feel about this. I have a feeling that the ALMS will get the short end of the stick here and will become a shadow of its former self.

Much like the IRL / Cart war, the ALMS / Grand-Am war hurt the fans and the sport. Because the (inferior) series own the crown jewel tracks (Indy and Daytona), they win the war.

Sports car racing will not be as good as ALMS, but it will be better than Grand Am with perhaps more factory teams. Seeing Audi as the only factory team running over private P1 teams got old.

I don't think this will be better for the racing, just maybe better for the 'show' (which is of course not the part we care about ;-(
The fact that Don Panoz sold off everything to the France's leave me cold, having seen what happened to Watkins Glen after they took over.......
