Today, it's sunny day.
So I decide to drive the NSX.
I started the car as usual and heard a strange noise (sounds like a ventilator).
Started to drive (always the sound) and after 2-3 minutes, the "ALB" light start to shine :frown:
I stop the car, shutdown the motor, and start again immediatly.
ALB diseappered; and start again after 2-3 minutes....
But the car works perfectly and brake seems to work.
Any ideas?
apparently, there are some issues with ALB module.
is it possible to disconnect it to avoid any damage (removethe fuse for example)

Search for abs exercise on this site. One or more of the solenoids in the modulator are leaking due to dirt, debris or stuck; exercising the abs system several cycles tends to fix the issue of the leaks and (causing the) error light on your dash. Exercising involves finding a wet or dirt covered portion of road and stomping on the brakes. Usually takes 3 or 4 lockup cycles to get things moving.

The ALB timeout is 120 seconds if not enough pressure has been created.

Try and exercise the system. Then try bleeding it, this will let you know if the pump is working too. You might need a rebuild to restore the ALB...it is not a simple job.

An upgraded system is available (which is cheaper than a new ALB of the same type you have now)

You can retrofit in an S2000 system, but it takes attention to detail and high skill

There is no fuse or relay to gracefully shut down the ALB without error lights.

However, you can dummy up the pressure switch like this:

If you do this, it will stop the ALB from activating and will not throw a warning light.

Good Luck

You hear a fast clicking noise when you begin to drive and it stops when the ALB light comes on after 2 - 3 minutes ?

That means that your ALB pump cannot build pressure in the accumulator. If there is no leak and your ALB fluid reservoir is full (check for that), if you are lucky, one of the 4 solenoids is untight. As explained, you can try to "clean" them by activating the ALB on the street. Or, better, follow the solenoid flush procedure here : https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct.../abs/abs.htm&usg=AOvVaw34nMYI7BVbQeDrtAJg0T3u

If this doesn't work, it could be another problem : bad pump, bad accumulator, pressure sensor or really worn solenoid's gaskets.

maybe I will have some chance (I hope ) because there is no leak, the ALB fluid is full (full of pressure...like sparkling fluid brake)... the fluid is lillte bit dirty

If you see foam in the reservoir, that means that a solenoid is not tight. Follow the solenoid flush procedure and maybe this solves the problem if the seals are still ok.

hi people, the last and the least (I hope so); my ALB is still shining 3 mins after starting the engine. The NSX was last week in CC Honda for timing belt and various operations (sparks, filters...) and bleeding the brake system.
the CC explains that the brake fluid was very very dirty and he need lot of liter of bleeding to clean the circuit; but despite, the ALB still shining .
so I think i should have a second plan; and maybe dismantle it.

I don't think the brake and ALB share brake fluid. Have you tried the ALB flushing procedure listed above?
