Pic 1: Are the lines in the proportion valve correct or is it the other way round?
What does the bronze and silver color of the threads mean?

Pic 2: What to do with the orange plug on the very right in the picture? Tapping? Is this the pressure switch?

In General: Lining up all brake lines is no fun.

Are you doing an ABS Upgrade? Just start with the the ABS pump and work the lines. I label where is brake lines go. The only orange plug that is needed is for the power, with a white and black wires.

Test fit the ABS pump and brake lines, I have a little trouble with the lines. The front left and right brake lines I had to bend the ends to get them to installed. I was not sure which lines go where, but I end up figuring it out.

I am missing Pipe S brake line, I have to order it from the dealer. Some how I miss place it.

Yes. :)

I guess I've found the answer to my first question, the lines are wrong this way.

One other question: Where is it best to get ground for the GT-ROM cable?

I would say try to ground it to G402 under the dash on the passanger fender. second choice would be to ground it to the metal rack that the old ABS ECU was mounted.

Sounds like you already figured it out, and I'm the same guy who said the prop valve diagram was backwards. It is, I pulled my hair out for an evening over it. Sorry I can't remember where I grounded. Let us know if the initial pedal takeup feels the same. I did mine over the winter so I couldn't really tell. If does take a lot of bleeding. I used a Vacula. Isn't the new unit cool?

Yes, it's cool! :) But what looked like a 2 day job (incl. clutch master) is in it's 4th day now, ok only working about 6 hours per day while the clutch master 'consumed' 1 day itself (PITA).

Other PITA's are bleeding the system with no professional equippement or try bleeding a brake line full of air with the Speed Bleeders installed and you know what I mean. Compressed air won't open the valve so they had to be changed with the OEM bleeder the get most of the air out. I'll bleed it until I have an enough firm brake pedal and then go to the garage which didn't happen since three years now.

Tomorrow the ABS cable will find it's way through the firewall and then the fan and the battery will be installed. Maybe test-drive it on saturday. ABS test results will follow after the professional bleeding job.

Besides all the PITA it's a great releave after all and DIY is therapy. This is not a hutchi-futchi-project I would let any mechanic out there do it on my car.

It's way softer than before, even after pumping 3 liters of fluid through the system. There must be some air in the system. Professional equippement needed I don't have. But my garage does. :)

Bad news: It doesn't work, I ended up locking up the wheels, no action of the ABS at all. :( All fuses (2 times 20 A and 1 40 A are ok). The TCS is ok. ANY INPUTS?

Could anybody confirm the connection of the ABS diagnostic cable. I believe the pink wires have to be cut and connected to the GT-ROM cable. These are the only ones that correspond.

EDIT 26.7.2008: PROBLEM SOLVED! The grounding of the GT-ROM cable was bad and showed 26 Ohm resistance. I've attached it to a much better place e voila: ABS works. :)
